At My Safe School, we firmly believe that the safety and well-being of our children is not just a priority, but a shared responsibility among parents, educators, and the community. Since our founding in 2023, we have been dedicated to combating school violence and bullying, and to implementing effective mental health programs to ensure safe and supportive environments for students across the Miami-Dade School District.
Grounded in these values, we are proud to announce the formation of our new Board of Directors, a team made up of active community members, parents, and professionals with extensive experience in leadership, education, communication, and organizational management. Each of them was selected for their unwavering commitment to our mission and their ability to contribute strategic and effective solutions to strengthen school safety.
Meet Our New Board of Directors
President: Thamy Mazza
At the helm of our organization, Thamy Mazza takes on the role of President with a strong background in community leadership and social activism. As a mother and advocate for school safety, she has worked tirelessly to raise awareness about the dangers of gun violence in schools and to promote policies that prevent bullying. Her dedication to education and child protection makes her the ideal leader to guide our mission forward.
Vice President: Carlos Fung Guevara
Carlos Fung Guevara is a well-known film director, lawyer, and social activist, deeply committed to the development of the Doral community. His work in the audiovisual field has helped raise awareness about social issues and promote positive change. As Vice President, his focus will be on implementing effective strategies for preventing school violence and building partnerships to expand the organization’s impact within the community.
Treasurer: Guillermo Ortiz
With a solid background in finance and resource management, Guillermo Ortiz is responsible for ensuring the transparency and financial sustainability of our organization. As a father and a finance professional, his expertise in fund management will ensure that every My Safe School initiative has the necessary resources for successful execution, supporting the growth and impact of our programs.
Director of Media and Visual Content: Daniel Muñoz
With over 19 years of experience in the audiovisual industry and strategic communication, Daniel Muñoz director leads the production of educational and informational content that raises awareness about school safety. His expertise in digital media and visual storytelling is essential to amplifying the My Safe School message and reaching more families, schools, and communities.
Director: Tibisay Andara
A professional with a strong background in education and community development, Tibisay Andara joins the board to help strengthen My Safe School's relationships with schools, educators, and families. Her experience designing and implementing educational programs will be vital in creating strategies that foster safe and inclusive learning environments.
Executive Director: Carol Dlor
Responsible for the operational and administrative coordination of the organization, Carol Dlor brings extensive experience in organizational management and social project development. Her ability to build strategic alliances and streamline internal processes ensures that every My Safe School initiative is effectively carried out to maximize its impact in the community.
